A shared rental community for young people in Beijing: mainly apartments, with dormitories and amenities. Buildings are kept low on the west to open views to the landscape belt, and flats face mostly south with no north-facing units.
Most shared amenities are placed below ground around sunken courtyards that bring daylight to the lower level, freeing floor area for rentable apartments while creating spaces for residents to meet.

Shared space
Because rental flats are small, some functions — part of the kitchen, work and study areas, living rooms and laundry — move out into shared spaces that build community.
- A shared island: most shared spaces are gathered in one building, with some on each floor at the lift lobbies, making it the social heart of the community.
- Gathering at the base: the ground floors enclose an inward-looking community space with larger shared rooms such as a gym, combined with small sunken courtyards.
